Identiq in 90 Seconds - Identiq is a privacy-first identity verification network that enables companies to validate new users without ever sharing or exposing personal data. By using a peer-to-peer network of trusted brands, Identiq allows businesses to confirm whether a user is real, trustworthy, or attempting fraud — all without ever passing user information between parties. It’s a game-changing solution in the fields of fraud prevention, account security, and user onboarding, and I was brought on to help visually communicate that offering through animation.

One of the key pieces I created for Identiq was the “Identiq in 90 Seconds” explainer video, featured prominently on their homepage. This animation needed to clearly convey a complex, highly technical product in a way that was both engaging and easy to understand for first-time visitors. I handled the full creative process — designing the visuals, storyboarding the narrative flow, and animating the final video. The result is a clean, modern, and fast-paced explainer that captures Identiq’s value proposition through abstracted iconography, seamless transitions, and a polished motion language that reflects the brand’s focus on trust and innovation.

Beyond the video, I was also responsible for animating every interactive animation across the Identiq website. These motion elements are subtly integrated throughout the site — from hover states and section transitions to looping icon animations — and were all built in After Effects, then exported as Lottie animations using the Bodymovin plugin. This approach allowed for high-quality, scalable animations that load quickly and run smoothly across all modern browsers and devices.

Creating these web animations required a detailed understanding of how motion would support — not distract from — the content. Each animation was designed to be informative, intuitive, and lightweight. From kinetic diagrams to animated UI representations, the motion is there to guide users, reinforce messaging, and bring a sense of precision and liveliness to the interface. All animations were exported in JSON format, fully optimised for implementation by the development team.

A big part of the challenge was maintaining performance while preserving visual fidelity. Lottie offered the perfect middle ground — allowing for rich vector animation while keeping file sizes small and playback smooth. I worked closely with developers to test and refine the assets across various sections of the site, ensuring they performed well on all breakpoints and didn’t disrupt page speed or UX.

This project brought together the best of product storytelling and functional motion design. From the hero explainer video to the smallest looped microinteractions, every animated element played a role in making Identiq’s proposition clearer, more engaging, and more memorable. It was a great opportunity to work on a modern tech brand where design and technology truly go hand in hand — and where every piece of motion had a strategic purpose.
